Paul Buttigieg, Mayor
Married with two children, he is 40
years old. Works as a Departmental Working Manager He has been Qala
Mayor for the past 11 years. Vice-President of the Qala St. Joseph FC,
and Vice-President of the Nationalist Party College of Councillors.
Member of the PN Gozo Organising Committee and Regional Council.
President of the Menhir Qala Folk Group and the Qala International Folk
Festival. Member of the Gozo Football Association Executive Council;
Governing Committee of Gozo’s Elderly Day Centre. Member of several
cultural, social and religious organisations.
Raymond Xerri, Vice Mayor
Married with two children, he
is 37 years old. Holds a doctorate level of education, and is employed
as a diplomat with the Civil Service. He is also a lecturer, consultant,
author, and publications’ editor. Secretary of the Ite Ad Joseph band
club. Founder and active member of the "Grupp Professjonisti Qalin,
Informa-Qala." Founder and organiser of the Gozo International
Celebration, member of the Qala International Folk Festival organizing
committee. Co-Founder of the Australian-Qala Association, founder the
Stars & Stripes Association and the Gozitan Friends of Australia
Association. Member of the PN Qala sectional committee. District
secretary of the PN Gozo and secretary of the organizing committee,
regional committee, and PN Gozo Mayors’ forum. He is the editor of the
Gozitan gazette "Ir-Regjun Taghna" and editor of the "Ghawdex u
l-Ghawdxin" series.
Paul Buttigieg, Councillor
Married with two children,
he is 44 years old. Works as a carpenter. Councillor on the Malta Labour
Party ranks in the locality of Qala. Secretary of the "Moviment Harsien
Hondoq", as well as a member of the MLP Qala sectional committee.
Victor Grech, Councillor
Married with two children, he
is 52 years old. Holds a tertiary level of education, and works as a
teacher. Councillor on the Nationalist Party ranks in the locality of
Qala. Member of the PN Gozo Regional Committee, Councillor on the PN
General Council and is a member in several religious organisations.
Anthony Camilleri, Councillor
Married with two children, served the locality as LP councillor for 9
uninterrupted years and passed away in office on the 29th of October
2009 at the age of 53. He was also treasurer of the LP Gozo Committee,
Vice President of GFA and President of Gozo Horse Racing Organizing
Committee. Anton worked as Maintenance Supervisor at the Gozo General
Hospital. Later, his son Clint Camilleri would be elected Qala’s Mayor,
changing the locality’s political polarity for the first time.
